Obituary: Anstress (Larrabee) SWAIN


OBITUARY YORK, Maine - Anstress "Anne" C. Swain, 88, of 26 Pudding Lane, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at York Hospital.  She was born on May 31, 1914, in Bath, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Sheldon) Larrabee and attended Bath schools. She graduated from Bath Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She moved to York in 1937, and worked as a nurse at the old York Hospital and was a private-duty nurse in the York area. She was a member of the York Street Baptist Church for 62 years. She had served as a church deaconess and Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Keenagers.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Larrabee.  In addition to her husband of 65 years, Trafton M. Swain of York, she is survived by one son, Marvin Swain and his wife, Deborah of York; one daughter, Deborah Adams and her husband Russell of York; a sister, Emily McMann of Bath; three grandchildren, Amy Swain Burley and her husband Robert, Heather Adams Henson and her husband Christian, and Lisa Anne Swain; three great-grandchildren, Justin and Amelia Burley and Emma Henson; and six nieces and nephews.
