NOTE 4: Dale Shaul, only child of William "Willy" and Sadie (Olsen) Shaul, was b. 12/10/1929 at Pumpkin Creek ranch in NE Banner County, NE, m. Ida Lou Cleveland 11/24/1950, daughter of Lee B. and Catherine Cleveland. Dale attended grade school at District 42. and graduated from BCHS in 1947. Ida Lou attended grade school at District 25-28 in Horseshoe Bend, and BCHS. Dale and Ida Lou were m. 11/24/1950 in Gering and lived in the old three-room house in Banner Co. where Dale had spent his whole life; no running water nor indoor plumbing. A year later, Dale was drafted into the Army and they spent the next year in CA, where Dale was stationed at Ft. Ord. After Dale was discharged in 1952, they moved back to the home place in Banner County. In December 1956, they purchased an irrigated farm three miles north of Minatare, NE and lived there until the spring of 1969, when they sold that farm and moved back to Banner Co. While living in Scotts Bluff County, they were the Honor Farm Family, in 1962. The whole family was active in 4-H, church and school. They returned to the Banner Co. ranch after the death of Dale's father May 1967.
