He and his wife were admitted to the Salisbury
2nd Church 11 March 1744 and on the same day a daughter of Henry
was baptized. Later they were members of the church at New
Gloucester, Province of Maine.
NOTE 3:
Richard and
Henry HACKETT, brothers, bought from Capt. William Elery several lots, 1/3 of which belonged to Henry. Henry and
Ezekiel, son of Richard, settled in New Gloucester in 1762.
They sold lot a lot to John Woodman. An account book kept by
Henry HACKETT places him in New Gloucester 14 June 1762. In
Salisbury, MA, he was a cordwainer (one who makes shoes and
other articles from fine soft leather) and part owner of the ship "Prosperity." He was a yeoman and a
shoemaker in New Gloucester. Source: "Descendants of Jabez
