NOTE 1: He enlisted 7-27-1861 and was promoted to sergeant on 1-10-1862. Served with Company F, 178th Mo. Vol. Infantry and served until discharged for disability for injured in the battle at Shiloh, TN and discharged 6-17-1862.
NOTE 2: Re-enlisted 9-30-1864, as a captain with Company G. 42nd Mo. Vol. Infantry; ustered out 6-28-1865.
