NOTE 1: He migrated to Western Nebraska with his parents in 1887. He acquired a homestead in the Mcgrew community. In 1905 Miss Beulah Rashaw came from Ord, Nebraska as a pioneer schoolteacher, and was employed in the Franklin District near McGrew for two years. She was the daughter of Orin G and Luella Travis Rashaw. She was born November 22, 1885. Her father was a former Civil War solder who helped capture John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of President Lincoln. Beulah graduated from Normal Training School at Fremont before coming to western Nebraska. He as along time member of the Castle Rock Irrigation District of which his father, Marcus was one of the organizers, as well as his uncle, Cassius Franklin.
